In the first meeting of the season against two relegated Premier League clubs, Huddersfield and Fulham face off at the John Smith’s Stadium on Friday evening.
Fulham to win @ 31/20
It has so far been an okay start to the season for Scott Parker’s side, as the ex-England midfielder takes on his first ever managerial role.
After a disappointing loss to newly-promoted Barnsley on the opening day, there may have been fears that there was a hangover from relegation the season before.
However, they were quickly averted last week when they secured a 2-0 win against Blackburn Rovers to get their season off and running.
Huddersfield, on the other hand, have started the season poorly under Jan Siewert, after losing 2-1 at home to Derby on the opening day.
They could only muster a draw away at QPR last week, before going down to Lincoln City in a surprise EFL Cup defeat in midweek.
After that game, Siewert took over 45 minutes in the dressing room before speaking to the press and the German could be under pressure already.
Fulham will look to take advantage of that, and Parker’s men were not subjected to an EFL Cup game midweek so may be fresher for the contest.
Fulham to score over 2.5 goals @ 4/1
When it clicks, Fulham’s attack looks a mouth-watering prospect at this level.
Aleksandar Mitrovic proved to be sharp shooter in Fulham’s promotion campaign two years ago as he netted 12 in just half a season on loan.
Winger Anthony Knockaert and Ivan Cavaleiro have also shone at this level in the past with 15 and nine goals respectively in their most productive Championship campaigns.
With Tom Cairney behind them, this Fulham side looks to have goals in it.
Elias Kachunga to score any time @ 9/2
Kachunga was one of the Huddersfield players who impressed in the Premier League but was never able to replicate that form in the top flight.
In their promotion campaign in 2016/17, he scored 13 goals in 48 Championship appearances, as he did enough to earn a permanent switch from German side Ingolstadt.
He has not started either of their league games yet but even his pace off the bench could cause trouble for the Fulham defence, which still looks very rickety after last season.
He will also hope to take some of the burden off Karlan Grant, who has netted both of Huddersfield’s goals so far this season from the penalty spot.
