Reds to triumph in opener

Liverpool start their Premier League campaign on Friday night with a home clash against newly-promoted Norwich City.

Here we look at the markets available for the first game of the season, as Reds manager Jurgen Klopp looks set to the campaign off to a flying start.

Liverpool to win @ 1/7

The Reds were only beaten once in the entire league campaign last season yet they still could not manage to pick up their first Premier League title and they will be going all out to change that this term.

Their record at Anfield was very impressive and it would be a massive surprise if the new boys of Norwich were to come away from Friday’s clash with anything in the plus column.

Liverpool to win 4-0 @ 17/2

The Reds are free-scoring and rack up the goals against opposition who try to come out and play against them and Norwich are likely to do just that as they look to make their mark in the Premier League.

The Canaries gained promotion with a free flowing style that swept all before them and it would be a surprise if they abandoned that approach in their first game.

Team-news wise the Anfield outfit are almost certain to be without Senegalese winger Sadio Mane after a busy summer for the 27-year-old where he has been in African Nations Cup action and only returned to training at the start of this week.

Even without him Liverpool will still have far too many attacking options for Norwich to cope with.

Both Teams to score NO @ 10/17

Liverpool have one of the best defensive setups in the Premier League and despite the fact that Norwich were free-scoring in the Championship they will find it much harder to find away through a defence as good as Liverpool’s.

Andrew Robertson, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold will all start for Liverpool with either Joel Matip or Joe Gomez partnering Van Dijk at the back and that is a back four which are not breached easily.

Norwich boss Daniel Farke will be desperate for his side not to be overrun on their first outing but anything other than a hefty defeat can be considered a result for the men from Norfork.
