Villa can secure Premier League return

Aston Villa can secure their return to the Premier League by overcoming Derby County in the Championship play-off final and Union Berlin can end Stuttgart’s stay in Germany’s Bundesliga.

Aston Villa win and both to score @ 59/20

Villa suffered play-off final heartache at Wembley last year as they went down 1-0 against Fulham but it could be time for redemption ahead of their clash with Derby County at Wembley this afternoon.

The Villans appeared set to miss out on the play-offs for much of the campaign but an excellent run of form saw them surge into the top six.

Villa have already beaten the Rams twice this season, winning the league meetings 7-0 on aggregate, and they can continue that dominance – but victory may not be so straightforward today.

Derby also ended the season strong as they went six games unbeaten to claim sixth spot. Frank Lampard’s men also fought back from a first leg deficit to see off Leeds in the semi-finals and should be able to find a way through the Villa defence, but the Birmingham club should have the quality to come through in 90 minutes and a Villa win with both teams to score stands out.

Union Berlin @ 13/10

Union Berlin managed a 2-2 draw at Stuttgart in the first leg of the Bundesliga relegation play-off and can make home advantage count in the decider today.

The Berlin club had a formidable home record in Bundesliga 2 this season with 11 wins and just one defeat in 17 games. Stuttgart’s form on their travels is the reason they find themselves in the relegation play-off, having picked up just one away win in the league, and they could be heading for defeat and relegation this evening.
