Italy’s Serie A comes to a close this weekend and Udinese can end the campaign with a win as they look to secure survival, and Malek Jaziri can secure a spot in the second round as the French Open begins in Paris.
Udinese need just a point to guarantee Serie A survival but they can retain their top-flight status with a win at Cagliari this evening.
Igor Tudor‘s men have found a bit of form at the right time and head into tonight’s clash seeking a third successive victory, while Cagliari are winless in four and have lost three of those matches.
The Rossoblu do tend to be fairly strong at home but have nothing to play for and Udinese’s need of the points may prove the difference.
Cagliari should be able to at least score as Udinese haven’t kept a clean sheet on their travels since December, a run stretching nine games, and an away win with both teams to score appeals at a big price.
The French Open gets underway today and in the men’s draw Malek Jaziri can secure a place in the second round at the expense of Oscar Otte.
Jaziri reached a career high 42 in the ATP rankings earlier this year but has dropped down to 94, although his form has started to pick up again.
The Tunisian picked up two wins in the Estoril Open before going down in three sets to David Goffin and should have too much quality and experience for lucky loser Otte, who is contesting just his second Grand Slam event and has never won a match at a major.
