Weekend Social Media Reaction

With the drama of the Premier League behind us, the FA Cup, the US PGA Championship and ODI cricket action took centre stage on another thrilling weekend of sport.

Here are some of our picks from the social media reactions, on a weekend that saw Manchester City become the first winners of a domestic treble.

The Fourmidables are born

After winning the FA Cup with a 6-0 thrashing of Watford on Saturday, the term ‘Fourmidables’ was coined by @ManCity.

Having won the Community Shield, Carabao Cup, Premier League and FA Cup, it has not been a bad year for Pep Guardiola and his side, who are 20/27 to retain the league title next season.

The official City twitter account rightly took great pride in the team’s success and the Fourmidables will be spoken about as one of the best sides the English game has had to offer.

Take a bow Rashid!

Adil Rashid produced his own moment to remember as his piece of solo brilliance helped claim the wicket of Babar Azam in England’s ODI with Pakistan.

A no-look run out on the spin has to be witnessed, as it helped the hosts secure 54-run victory over Pakistan at Headingley.

@SkyCricket caught the action and it was really was a great bit of skill from the Yorkshireman over the weekend.

Koepka all focus ahead of title win

Brooks Koepka managed to come through a real wobble in his final round on Sunday but still managed to come away with the US PGA title.

The American, who is 13/2 to win the next US Open, managed to hold off the world number one Dustin Johnson after nearly blowing a seven-shot lead at the start of the day.

It was all focus for Koepka before his final round and nobody was going to distract this guy from getting the job done… nobody.
