Huddersfield could face Liverpool backlash

Liverpool were knocked off the top of the Premier League without playing on Wednesday night after Manchester City won at Manchester United in their game in hand.

The Reds have a chance to move back to the summit when they entertain Huddersfield on Friday, albeit potentially temporarily as City play on Sunday, and they will be looking to make a statement as they continue their quest for the title.

Liverpool to win 5-0 @ 7/1

Liverpool have had a few tough home games recently, having claimed wins over Chelsea, Spurs and Porto.

Jurgen Klopp‘s men do have the potential to run riot when faced with opponents in the bottom half of the table at home and have beaten Newcastle 4-0, Bournemouth 4-0 and Cardiff 4-1 this season.

Liverpool have also downed Watford 5-0 and Arsenal 5-1 at Anfield and could be set for another big win against the Terriers.

Huddersfield boss Jan Siewert has started to only select players he expects to stick with the club over the summer, while Klopp should pick close to his best XI despite their upcoming Champions League games against Barcelona, with the league a priority.

The floodgates may well open on Merseyside on Friday but Liverpool haven’t scored more than five at home all season, so 5-0 looks a decent option in the correct-score market.

Sadio Mane first goalscorer @ 13/5

Sadio Mane is one of four Liverpool stars in the PFA team of the year and he has been in good scoring form in recent weeks.

The Senegal forward has two goals in his last three appearances and on both of those occasions he has opened the scoring, making him a strong candidate to break the deadlock on Friday.
