This week some of the big boys of Super League get involved in the Challenge Cup action, with Leeds Rhinos and Salford Red Devils joining the fold on Friday night.
The Rhinos welcome League One side Workington Town to Headingley, while the Red Devils will host the Rochdale Hornets.
It has been a season to forget so far for Leeds in the Super League, with head coach Dave Furner having to cope with a squad lacking in confidence after just two wins.
The Rhinos did show in their golden-point win over Castleford Tigers what they are capable of on their day, but those have been few and far between this season.
Challenge Cup rugby could well come as a welcomed distraction for the West Yorkshire outfit, against a Workington side who will be determined to add to the Rhinos’ woes.
However, the Cumbrian club are sat fifth in League One and the gulf in class should see Leeds run out as comfortable winners and give the home fans something to cheer about.
With four wins from their 10 Super League games so far this season, it has been a mixed start for the men at the AJ Bell Stadium.
Again, a chance to put up a big score could do some benefit to confidence in the Red Devils’ squad against a Rochdale side that have only won once in the Championship this season.
