Free-scoring Wolves to end Monday hoodoo

Having found goals hard to come by during the early part of the season, Wolverhampton Wanderers have been hitting the back of the net for fun of late.

They’ve scored over 30 per cent of their league goals in their last three games but will find it slightly tougher to improve on that tally when a stubborn Newcastle United side visits Molineux on Monday.

Wolves & under 2.5 goals @ 47/20

Wolves’ current run makes them the favourites to finish ‘best of the rest’ on their return to the Premier League this season, sitting in seventh ahead of the clash with the Toon. Three top-flight wins on the spin has really highlighted the quality Nuno Espirito Santo‘s squad possesses and a fourth consecutive success would be their first in the top flight since 1972.

Wolves have been preparing for this game in Marbella and are expected to return with a fully-fit squad to choose from with Diogo Jota and Ruben Neves having been struggling with knocks recently.

Opponents Newcastle’s recent form hasn’t been bad either, winning two of their last three in the Premier League, while they were a little unfortunate not to take anything from last week’s game at Tottenham.

It was a lack of cutting edge which again let the Tynesiders down at Wembley but they’ll hope record signing Miguel Almiron will help them in that department with the Paraguayan poised to be in the match-day squad for Monday’s game.

The Toon’s injury room is finally starting to empty as well and Mohamed Diame, Ki Sung-yueng and Joselu have all been passed fit for the clash.

Despite a recent upturn in form, the weekend’s results mean Rafael Benitez’s men are only outside the relegation zone on goal difference.

Three points would, therefore, be very welcome and they have a decent record at Molineux, avoiding defeat on their last four visits.

Wolves are also suffering with a version of the unhappy Mondays, losing all four of their Premier League games on the first day of the week.

Raul Jimenez 8/5 to score anytime

However, they won the reverse fixture at St James’ Park 2-1 and having finally got the hang of converting their chances, it is tough to look beyond the home side.

Raul Jimenez has been the man tucking away most of the chances for Nuno’s men, scoring four in his last three Premier League appearances.

With Newcastle having kept one clean sheet in their last nine matches, Jimenez looks good to add to his tally.
