Bielsa’s boys can return to winning ways

The Championship is back this weekend and Friday’s clash at Elland Road will get Round 27 off to a super start as Leeds United host Derby County.

Leeds to win and both to score @ 43/20

Injuries have hurt Leeds in recent weeks, with the Whites losing their last three games in all competitions. However, the inconsistency of those below them means the West Yorkshire outfit still sit two points clear at the top of the table.

Derby are sixth and may have revenge on their mind, having lost 4-1 when the pair met in August. Both teams have improved greatly since then and the Rams will take heart from winning 4-3 at Norwich in their last away game.

Both of these sides seem happier going forward so over 3.5 goals might be worth a look at 33/20 – but home advantage has been key for Leeds this season.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side had won four in a row on their own patch before defeat to Hull last time out at home and their resilience should come to the fore here.

West Brom to beat Norwich @ 11/10

The pick of the three o’clock games on Saturday sees fourth-place West Brom host second-place Norwich.

Darren Moore’s side have endured a frustratingly inconsistent season but they went ten unbeaten before losing at Blackburn on New Year’s Day.

Norwich have let Leeds off the hook recently, failing to win any of their last four in all competitions and were the victims of an FA Cup shock against Portsmouth last Saturday.

For both of these teams it is all about promotion this season and games like this one will have a big say on their fate.

The Baggies appear the form team going into this one and, having won at Carrow Road, they can do the double over the Canaries.

Rotherham to beat Ipswich @ 11/5

At the other end of the table, Rotherham can take advantage of Ipswich’s woes at Portman Road.

The Tractor Boys sit rock bottom of the Championship – ten points from safety – and have won only one of their last 15 games, taking just six points from a possible 45.

Rotherham are 21st and looked to be on the slide before beating Preston 2-1 on January 1.

A 7-0 defeat at Manchester City in the FA Cup is unlikely to have taken too big a toll on the Millers’ players and this game looks the perfect chance to move further clear of the relegation spots.

Millwall to beat Blackburn @ 11/10

The late game comes from Bermondsey where Millwall host Blackburn Rovers.

A 0-0 draw was all these two could muster in August but the pair have a habit of producing goals when they meet, with four or more goals in three of their four games before that.

Millwall showed plenty of fight to beat Hull in the FA Cup and have enjoyed a good recent run, winning their last three in the Championship to build a gap between themselves and the bottom three.

Relegation fears have not been an issue for Rovers on their return to the second tier but one win in six has to be a worry for Tony Mowbray.

They have not won at the Den since 2013 and another defeat could be on the cards here.
