Tigers can roar in crucial Championship clash

After a rare midweek break, the Championship clubs return to action this weekend and as ever, there are some good value bets to be had in the second-tier of English football.

Just seven points separate first from sixth at the top, while at the bottom only seven points separate 15th from 23rd.

Hull to beat Brentford @ 33/20

At the end of October Hull City were in the bottom three and looked doomed to another relegation battle – but Nigel Adkins has turned things around in recent weeks.

The Tigers are up to 19th after collecting 12 points from their last seven games and they will expect to extend that run against a Brentford team that are heading in the opposite direction.

Since losing Dean Smith to Aston Villa, the Bees have been in free fall and have collected just one win in 14 league games – a run that leaves them just three points outside of the relegation zone.

Brentford are also without a win away from home so far this term and a Hull win to nil on Saturday can be backed at 7/2.

Preston to beat Millwall @ 21/20

Another team in free fall are Millwall, who haven’t won any of their last six matches and face a tough trip north this weekend.

Preston are the latest opponents for the Lions, who haven’t won on their last four visits to Deepdale and have not scored in their last three visits.

Meanwhile, North End have moved themselves six points clear of their opponents after just one defeat in their last 11 league games.

Preston have lost just once on home soil this term and striker Louis Moult, who has four goals to his name, has scored two in the last four matches and can be backed at 39/20 to score at anytime on Saturday.

Bristol City to beat Norwich @ 37/20

It may seem strange going against the team currently top of the table, but Norwich look set to face a stern test of their promotion credentials at Ashton Gate.

The Canaries are unbeaten in six but they haven’t been that convincing in a number of those games – drawing at Hull, needing two stoppage time goals to beat Millwall, coming from behind to win against Rotherham and needing another 90th minute goal to beat Bolton.

They now face a Bristol City side that looked to have turned the corner in recent weeks, highlighted by last week’s impressive 1-0 win at Birmingham.

The Robins are unbeaten in three and a win on Saturday could see them move into the top eight.
