Holders Manchester City play host to Fulham in the Carabao Cup on Thursday evening and the omens suggest that the hosts should win with ease.
The Citizens have lifted the League Cup three times in the last five seasons and, having roared to the Premier League title as well last term, they have started the new campaign in fine style.
They lead the way again in the league and have lost just once in 15 outings in all competitions, with head coach Pep Guardiola likely to give a number of squad players a starting opportunity against the Cottagers.
Both teams to score @ 6/5
With a host of back-up players set to be on show for both sides at the Etihad Stadium, is seems reasonable to think that defences will not be at their tightest, so goals for both sides appears to be a decent option.
The only proviso to that would be that the Citizens have kept clean sheets in their last four games, but the visitors are unlikely to sit back and wonder and will surely offer a decent attacking threat.
Man City to win by two goals @ 3/1
Even if Guardiola mixes things up greatly for this last-16 fixture, the City squad has so much quality that they should still have far too much for Fulham to cope with.
That view is given plenty of support by the Londoners having been outrageously porous in the Premier League so far this season.
Twenty-eight goals conceded in ten league games highlights exactly what the problem is for Slavisa Jokanovic and his side, who are struggling badly on their return to the top-flight.
Gabriel Jesus to score first @ 3/1
One man who will be eager to make the most of a probable starting role is Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus.
He has found opportunities with City severely limited so far this season, although he did score in the 3-0 win at Oxford United in the last round of the Carabao Cup.
The South American should have chances to get his name in the scoresheet again, but at 10/19 to score at any time he offers very little by way of value in that market.
