Bournemouth take on Norwich City in the EFL Cup this evening and the Premier League side can see off their Championship opponents with room to spare.
The Cherries are riding high in sixth spot in the table and, as such, manager Eddie Howe has a bit more freedom to target the cup competitions this term. Howe could well opt to field a strong team against Norwich rather than make a number of changes as he did in the previous rounds, and with home advantage they should be able to win fairly comfortably.
Norwich are also in good form and go into this cup clash on the back of three straight wins. The Canaries are just two points off top spot in the second tier and with promotion a realistic aim their boss Daniel Farke could decide to rotate with an eye on Saturday’s trip to Sheffield Wednesday.
Bournemouth are unbeaten at home all season, so even if Howe does tinker with his squad they should be able to claim a win and beat a one-goal handicap.
There are eight DFB Pokal games in Germany this evening and we’re treated to an all-Bundesliga affair as Hannover entertain Wolfsburg.
Neither side has been in great form, but Wolfsburg have been steady on the road with two wins in their last four.
Hannover have lost five of their last seven games and may struggle to get anything out of Wolfsburg at the HDI-Arena in this German Cup fixture.
