Belief can see Hall challenge for another major

The best women in world golf gather in France this week for the fifth and final major of the year – the Evian Championship.

The Evian Resort Golf Club in the east of the country is the venue for the tournament, which saw a European claim the trophy 12 months ago.

Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist won last year’s shortened championship in a play-off and hopes are high that another European golfer can claim first prize this weekend.

Hall – Outright Winner @ 25/1

Bournemouth’s Georgia Hall is looking to become only the first English women to win back-to-back major titles after her success at last month’s British Open.

The 22-year-old has continued her impressive form since then, including a second-place finish at the Portland Classic – a tournament she almost certainly would have won but for a final-round 75.

Hall also has fond memories of last year’s Evian Championship, which was reduced to 54-holes due to bad weather, when she secured a top-10 finish.

Lee – Outright Winner @ 13/1

It’s been 12 years since an Australian won a major – Karrie Webb in 2006 – but Minjee Lee could be about to end the wait.

The woman from Perth has been in outstanding form this season, making 11 top-10 finishes and claiming victory in the LPGA Volvik Championship in May.

Lee finished T11 in the Evian Championship last year and goes into this year’s tournament off the back of a fourth-place finish in Portland, where she opened up with a 64.

Choi – Each-Way @ 100/1

If you are seeking a big price each-way bet for this week’s tournament, the experienced Chella Choi looks tempting at 100/1.

The 28-year-old has been on tour for 10 years now and although her form has been up and down this year, there have been good signs in recent weeks.

Choi finished T9 in last week’s Portland Classic and has secured top-20 finishes in three of her last seven LPGA Tour events.

Two of the last five winners of the Evian Championship and eight of the last 20 major winners have been South Korean, and Choi has a decent previous record in this tournament. Her best finish in France came in 2013 when she ended up tied for sixth.
