Villa can start with a win

Aston Villa head to Hull tonight to complete the first round of Championship fixtures and Steve Bruce’s men can kick off with a win on the road.

Villa to win @ 8/5

Villa have endured a tough summer due to financial worries and speculation over the manager’s future dominating the headlines.

However, as it stands, Bruce is still the boss and the exodus hasn’t been as extreme as many expected although a few players are still likely to go before the transfer deadline passes.

The Birmingham outfit still have a quality squad and they’ll be keen to lay down a marker after their play-off final defeat at the end of last season.

Hull still look a little light to me, particularly in midfield as David Meyler and Sebastian Larsson have left and no replacements have been signed.

The Tigers look good enough to avoid trouble but may struggle against the better sides and Villa should be too strong.

Cecchinato to beat Tiafoe @ 39/20

Marco Cecchinato is enjoying a breakthrough year as a late bloomer at the ripe old age of 25 and has picked up some huge wins this season, having claimed a win over Novak Djokovic in the French Open on the way to a semi-final appearance.

Frances Tiafoe, 20, looks to be one of the stars of the future and the American is the 2/5 favourite to win this Rogers Cup clash in Toronto, but Cecchinato has a real chance to cause an upset.

The world number 22 hasn’t played on hard courts since January and overall has had a pretty poor run on the surface.

However, Tiafoe hasn’t impressed either, with two wins and two defeats in his last four games, and at a big price of 39/20 the Italian looks worth the risk in this match-up.
