Azarenka can make a statement with Pliskova scalp

Two former world number ones meet at Wimbledon today as Karolina Pliskova comes up against Victoria Azarenka.

Azarenka to win @ 7/5

Azarenka is now ranked as the world number 87 after a period of inactivity but she remains a dangerous player. The Belarusian has won three of her five outings on grass this year and looks to be improving with each passing match.

Pliskova survived a scare against Briton Harriet Dart in her opening match to claim a 2-1 win but Azarenka may have too much quality this afternoon.

Grass is comfortably the Czech’s weakest surface as she has never managed to progress beyond the second round at Wimbledon and has managed just three wins over players ranked in the WTA’s top 10 on the surface – none of which have come at SW19.

Azarenka is yet to hit her best form but does look to be getting closer to returning to the top of her game and can claim a morale-boosting win over the seventh seed today.

Jared Donaldson to beat Stefanos Tsitsipas @ 5/4

Donaldson, 21, comes up against a fellow rising star in Greek teenager Tsitsipas this afternoon in the men’s draw.

The American reached the third round at Wimbledon last year and seems to have a game well suited to grass.

Donaldson won his opener against Tunisian Malek Jaziri in straight sets and overcame Tsitsipas in their only previous meeting, in Chengdu last year.

This should be a fascinating battle between two players with potentially big careers ahead of them but Donaldson is probably the better grass-court player and looks good value to claim a victory in this match-up.
