The Championship takes centre stage today for Good Friday and a couple of away teams have caught my eye.
Middlesbrough have found a bit of form of late and are unbeaten in six overall, while the north east side have also managed four successive home victories.
However, all four of those home wins have come against teams currently in the bottom half and league leaders Wolves will provide much stiffer competition when they visit the Riverside Stadium for one of the late kick-offs.
Wolves’ away form hasn’t been particularly impressive of late but they still boast the best record on the road in the division and the international break may have allowed them time to regroup.
The Molineux outfit look a great price at 8/5 to secure all three points and that looks worth taking on in this Championship clash.
Reading host Queens Park Rangers in another 17.30 kick off and a win for the away side at 17/10 is my top bet, which would of course ruin Paul Clement’s first match in charge of the struggling Royals.
The hosts are winless in nine and it could take more than a change in manager to revive their fortunes. Meanwhile, QPR had hit a rich vein of form prior to the international break with a four-game unbeaten run – including a win at Aston Villa and a draw at Fulham.
Admittedly you never really know how a team will respond to a change in manager but the Royals have been so poor over the last few months or so a win for QPR looks a good option for this Championship fixture.
