Chelsea can give Barca the Blues

Chelsea and Barcelona have locked horns regularly in the Champions League in recent years and the Blues have often proved to be tough opponents for the Catalan giants.

Indeed, heading into the first leg of their last-16 tie at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, the Blues are unbeaten in their last seven meetings with Barca.

Five of those seven games have ended in draws, so 5/2 for another draw on Tuesday certainly offers plenty to ponder.

And both sides go into the game in mixed form in recent weeks, with Chelsea having lost two of their last four and Barca having only won one of their last three La Liga outings.

However, it is the Spanish side who have been more solid in defence as they have kept three clean sheets in a row and they are more than decent value at 37/20 to blank out the Blues on Tuesday evening.

Much of the onus on giving Barca defensive headaches is likely to fall on Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard, who has long been linked with a possible move to Real Madrid.

And Hazard appears to have hit form in front of goal at just the right time, as he has netted six goals in his last six games, with three of those strikes the first goals in their respective games.

He is 13/2 to net the first goal of the game on Tuesday, while Lionel Messi is an interesting prospect at 49/20 to score first, having failed to find the net in any of his last five games.

The same can be said of Luis Suarez, who is 15/4 to open the scoring, as he only has one goal in his last four games.

Meanwhile, the second tie of the night sees Bayern Munich play host to Besiktas, with the two sides having only previously met twice in the Champions League.

Back in late 1997 Bayern claimed 2-0 victories both at home and in Turkey and they offer decent value at 13/2 to repeat that scoreline in the Allianz Arena on Tuesday evening.

However, the hosts do need to be careful, as despite having won 14 games in a row in all competitions, they have only kept two clean sheets in their last eight outings.

So maybe 29/20 for Bayern to win, but both teams to score could be worth considering.
