Dons to dominate Hibs

Aberdeen have an excellent recent record against Hibernian and they may be able to continue that at Easter Road on Saturday.

The Dons have won six of their last seven matches against the Hibees in all competitions, including both Scottish Premiership meetings this season so far.

In fact, during 2017, Derek McInnes’ team have been in front at half-time and full-time in all three clashes with Neil Lennon’s outfit.

It is likely to be a tight battle at the Leith venue, with under 2.5 goals scored in nine of the last 10 instalments of this fixture in Edinburgh, but Aberdeen make plenty of appeal at odds of 9/5.

The Dons are top of Scotland’s mini form league, with four wins and a draw in their last six league games. The setback was a defeat to Rangers at Ibrox and, with the Light Blues becoming like kryptonite to Aberdeen in recent meetings, it can be overlooked.

Playing away from home has suited Aberdeen this season, with eight wins in 13 attempts, while Hibs haven’t really enjoyed their home comforts as they have just five Easter Road wins from a dozen so far.

It all points to Aberdeen being the value all, with braver punters perhaps willing to take 33/10 on a half-time/full-time away success.

The Glasgow clubs are both in action on Sunday. Wins for Celtic (4/23 at home to St Johnstone) and Rangers (5/12 away at Hamilton) are very likely, with their opponents combining for seven straight defeats in the league recently.

The action begins on Saturday when Hearts travel to face bottom club Ross County at Dingwall. The home side come into the game boosted by a 4-1 success against Dundee last weekend, just their fifth win in 26 games this term.

Hearts had to grind out a 1-0 home success against St Johnstone last weekend. The Jambos are in fifth spot and have impressed on occasions this season but, remarkably, Craig Levein’s team are the third-lowest scorers in Scotland’s top flight.

Hearts can overcome the basement club but don’t expect the goals to flow, with an away win and under 3.5 goals the play at 33/20.
