Liverpool head to Porto in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash and the Premier League side may be able to take a lead back to Anfield.
The hosts managed two home wins in the group stages of the competition after being drawn with Besiktas, Monaco and RB Leipzig, but Liverpool’s in-form attack could prove too strong this evening.
The Reds won comfortably at Southampton over the weekend and after a mini blip at the end of last month and appear to have rediscovered their form.
Porto have been in fine form themselves at home with eight successive wins and will be well aware they need a result in the home leg. However, they have some big injury concerns – with key forward Vincent Aboubakar a doubt – and Liverpool’s away form suggests they can raid the Estadio do Dragao.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have won seven of their last 10 on the road and navigated the group stages unbeaten on their travels. The Anfield side were held to two draws but were unlucky not to beat Sevilla after opening up a 3-0 lead, and can make a statement with a convincing win today.
The visitors’ forwards have been in good scoring form and can make sure Liverpool win with some room to spare this evening, while Roberto Firmino looks a good anytime scorer option at 8/5.
