Real Betis claimed a morale-boosting Seville derby win last time out and can back that up with a win over visiting Leganes this evening.
Prior to their win over Sevilla, Betis had been in woeful form with five defeats in seven and just one win, which came at relegation candidates Malaga.
That derby win may help them rediscover some momentum and end a three-match losing run at home when they take on their mid-table rivals this evening.
Leganes have three wins on their travels this season but two of those victories came against sides currently in the bottom three and they haven’t claimed an away win since October.
The visitors go into the game without a win in six on their travels, losing five of those matches and scoring just twice.
Betis had lost just once at home this season prior to a surprise Copa del Rey loss to Cadiz and back-to-back defeats to Athletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid and their win over local rivals Sevilla could see them rediscover the kind of form they showed earlier in the season.
The hosts do have a few injury and suspension concerns, but Leganes have been so poor on the road Betis’ squad should be able to cope with their absentees and record a win.
As mentioned earlier, Leganes have just two goals in their last six away games and overall they’ve found the back of the net just six times in nine La Liga outings so far this season.
