Germany take on Mexico in the Confederations Cup semi-finals today and we could see a high-scoring affair.
The first last-four clash between Portugal and Chile ended 0-0, with the latter winning on penalties, but both Germany and Mexico have been among the goals in Russia and so hopefully we should see a few later.
In all of the Confederations Cup games involving these two sides so far, both teams have scored. Germany’s three group games yielded 11 goals in total and Mexico’s produced 10, so both teams to score at 20/27 looks a solid call this evening.
Much has been made of the experimental squad Germany boss Joachim Low has taken to Russia, but he still has plenty of attacking talent to call on and the world champions should be able to claim the win.
A Germany victory with both teams to score at 13/5 is my top bet for today’s semi-final clash.
The German defence hasn’t looked particularly solid to date although with the likes of Julian Draxler and Leon Goretzka they should have enough quality going forward to outscore Mexico.
