Chelsea boss Antonio Conte can cap off an excellent debut season in charge at Stamford Bridge by downing a weakened Arsenal in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
The Gunners battled in vain for a top four finish in the final round of Premier League fixtures as their 3-1 win over Everton failed to deliver Champions League football. The victory also came at a cost as key defender Laurent Koscielny was sent off, resulting in a suspension for the final, and fellow stopper Gabriel suffered an injury that will keep him out.
Chelsea have been lucky with injuries all season and they go into the Wembley showpiece with virtually a fully-fit side, with fringe man Ruben Loftus-Cheek their only doubt. Conte’s men won their final two games despite having already claimed the title and they should be fired up for the occasion on Saturday.
Chelsea are 10/13 to come out on top and are worth backing at that price in the standard 90 minute market but we can do a bit better and take the 39/20 on a win for the Blues with a -1 handicap as the top bet for the FA Cup final.
The Premier League champions beat Arsenal 3-1 in February and the fact manager Arsene Wenger will have to put out a makeshift defence should see plenty of chances created by Chelsea’s deadly attack. Striker Diego Costa is also worth a mention at 17/4 to score two or more, in what could potentially be his last game for the club if the transfer speculation is to be believed.
