Room for a small one?
It’s the last game before the Premier League’s big finish on Sunday. In a Thursday-shaped-space usually reserved for the Europa League, two of the most talked about teams of the last two seasons tee off.
Spurs must be wondering what it takes for them to win a title. They’ve been there or thereabouts for a few years now, but seem specialists at being pipped to the post. Perhaps they’ll seek revenge on last season’s victors in vicious fashion on Thursday.
There’s certainly been better title defences than Leicester’s faltering season. Ousting the beloved manager who led them to fairytale silverware was never going to endear them to newfound fans.
Is Shakespeare still in his honeymoon period? He set the Foxes back on track upon arrival, but losses to Arsenal and Man City have placed a question mark over their ongoing ability to challenge top clubs.
If you think Spurs’ fire is out of fuel, perhaps go for a spirited fight from Leicester: 33/10 for them to win. On the other hand, perhaps White Hart Lane’s demise burns inside Spurs’ hearts with an impotent rage: a semi-tragic Tottenham win by 1 goal is at 11/5.
Either way, it’s down to individuals to write the script (what better prep, you’d think, than a Shakespearean editor on the home bench?)
If you think Christian Eriksen will finish his season with a flourish, he’s at 2/1 to score anytime. On the flipside, Shinji Okazaki could follow his acrobatic effort against Man City with a similarly industrious poach here: he’s at 49/20 to score anytime.
For those high-stakes high-hopers, we’ve got the perfect storm of a market. In the ‘Number of Goals’ category, there’s no odds under 3/1. Each choice here is sure to reel in some mountainous moolah. We’re feeling the 3 goals option – at 3/1 – though to say who for would reveal too much of our clairvoyant capacity (soothsayers must remain mysterious, don’t you know).
Feel free to dispute our forecasts – cast your vote with a ballot-cum-bet before Thursday evening!
