After landing correct score bets in both the Liverpool and Manchester City games, as well as a half-time draw in Burnley’s loss to Spurs, I’m heading into a packed week of fixtures in good form and hopefully that can continue later when Celta Vigo host Leganes in La Liga.
Celta were battling for European qualification earlier in the campaign but their form has dipped in the latter half of the season, probably due to their continued involvement in the Europa League and Copa del Rey run, and they now appear destined for mid-table.
Las Palmas are 12th in La Liga, just three points and one place behind Celta ahead of their clash later today, and they now appear safe from the threat of relegation.
Celta went down 1-0 to Villarreal in their last match at the Balaidos but bounced back with consecutive away wins at Krasnodar in Europe and at Deportivo La Coruna.
Las Palmas’ success this season has been as a result of their form on home soil as away from the Canary Islands they’ve managed just one win and three draws, losing the other nine of their 13 fixtures.
Celta’s form may have tailed off but at home they’ve remained strong and only Sevilla and Villarreal have managed to deny them any points at the Balaidos since September.
The hosts are 10/11 in the standard match betting market but as Las Palmas have only failed to score in four of their 15 away games across all competitions this season the 23/10 available for a home win with both teams to score is my top bet for Monday’s La Liga fixture.
