Watford fought back from 2-0 down to humble West Ham 4-2 at the London Stadium in the early stages of the season but we may see a different result in the reverse fixture today.
The Hammers endured a tough start to their Premier League campaign but they’ve hit some form now and head into this fixture seeking a third successive away win.
Slaven Bilic’s men managed 3-1 wins at both Middlesbrough and Southampton, both tough places to go, and they can take all three points at Vicarage Road in today’s late kick off.
Andy Carroll seems likely to miss out again for West Ham in what would be a blow but they have been finding ways to win without him lately.
Watford have been in fairly good form themselves, aside from a 2-0 defeat that could have been worse at Manchester United last time out, but they weren’t that convincing against either Boro or Burnley in their most recent home games.
At 19/10 a straightforward away win looks a solid bet at great value but as West Ham tend to be involved in high scoring games, particularly when winning, an away win with over 2.5 goals at 3/1 is my top bet for this clash.
Meanwhile, the late kick off in the Bundesliga sees Hertha Berlin entertain Eintracht Frankfurt and I’m expecting a home win. Hertha very nearly beat Bayern Munich at home last weekend and they’ve got the best home record in the Bundesliga – level with RB Leipzig and a point better than Bayern after 10 games.
Hertha are 11/10 in the standard match betting market but as Frankfurt have shipped in five in total without reply in their last two games, a home win with a -1 handicap at 16/5 could be worth the risk.
