Sunday’s FA Cup Preview Round-Up – Spurs face tough London derby

Tottenham were extremely fortunate to edge past Wycombe Wanderers in the fourth round and will find it much harder to knock Fulham out in what is sure be a feisty London derby at Craven Cottage.

Mauricio Pochettino will be focused on finishing in the top four once again this season so may not field a full-strength side for Sunday’s match.

Slavisa Jokanovic’s team thrashed Hull City in the last round after earlier disposing of Cardiff City and have recorded back-to-back 3-2 victories in the Championship against Wigan Athletic and Nottingham Forest in the last week.

They will certainly be no pushovers and it may be worth checking out the odds of 7/2 for a Fulham win, in what could be a high-scoring match. The odds on there being over 4.5 goals in the game look enticing at 15/4.

There would appear to be more chance of a shock at Craven Cottage than at Ewood Park where Blackburn Rovers are entertaining Manchester United.

The match will revive memories of the 1994/95 season, when Blackburn pipped United to the Premier League title but the two clubs have gone their separate ways since then and Rovers are currently in danger of being relegated to League One.

Owen Coyle’s side have won just one of their last six Championship fixtures while only Rotherham United and Nottingham Forest have conceded more goals than Rovers so far this season.

In contrast, United are in contention for a top-four Premier League finish, face Saint-Etienne in the Europa League before taking on Southampton in the EFL Cup final at Wembley.

Jose Mourinho has a strong enough squad to battle on four fronts while Saturday’s 2-0 win against Watford extended their Premier League unbeaten run to 16 matches, stretching back to October.

United should have enough defensive quality to keep a clean sheet at Ewood Park at odds of 10/11 while Juan Mata is 7/1 to score the first goal in the fifth round tie.
