Fiorentina head to Inter Milan on Monday and I’m backing La Viola to record a fifth successive Serie A win on the road against an out-of-sorts Nerazzurri.
Inter, now managed by Stefano Pioli after Frank de Boer’s dismissal, have just one win in their previous five matches and that came against Crotone, who already seem destined for relegation.
The Milan outfit have fared better at home with just one defeat in their last five games at the Giuseppe Meazza but Fiorentina are a good attacking team and, having done the double over Inter in each of the last two seasons, they should head into this one in confident mood.
La Viola were beaten by PAOK in the Europa League last week but Paulo Sousa made a number of changes to his side and should revert to a similar line-up to the one that dismantled Empoli in the last round of Serie A games.
Inter’s last outing was a 3-2 reverse at Hapoel Be’er Sheva, a result that saw them exit the Europa League, and Pioli picked a strong team for that encounter. The clash with the Israeli outfit was a must-win test for the Nerazzurri and one they didn’t pass, which is why I expect Fiorentina to pile the pressure on their hosts on Monday.
An away win is a tempting 53/20 but I think we can do a little better today.
Inter may be losing games but they do tend to score and only once in their last 10 outings have they failed to find the back of the net.
Fiorentina have some exciting attacking options and with 13 goals in their previous 5 Serie A games they’re in good form going forward. My top bet for this clash is a Fiorentina win with both teams to score at 9/2, while Nikola Kalinic to score at anytime for the visitors at 37/20 also appeals.
