Serie A Betting Preview – Week 8

Six wins from seven leaves Juventus in their familiar position at the top of Serie A. The task has been set for the rest of the chasing pack to halt Juventus in their tracks as they look to achieve a 33rd Serie A title.

Juventus’s only blip to the campaign so far was a 2-1 loss away to Inter Milan. Since then they have won three league games in a row and they will be keen to make it four as Udinese visit Turin on Saturday evening.

It looks a tall order for Udinese who have lost three out of the last four Serie A matches. Comeon.com agree, making Juventus heavy favourites at 2/11 but if it is value you are after then comeon.com’s 5/4 on there to be over 3.5 goals looks a very nice bet indeed.

Second place side Napoli relinquished their unbeaten start to the season last time out as they fell foul to an unpredictable Atalanta team, losing 1-0.

Third place Roma are the visitors to Napoli this Saturday in what is a mouth-watering encounter. Roma are the top scorers in the league this season having found the back of the net 16 times so far (one more than Juventus).

However, they have conceded nine times putting them tenth in the defensive table, proving they can be susceptible at the back. Napoli are a little more solid having only conceded six and have only scored two less than Roma meaning we should expect this to be a goal fest.

Napoli are evens for the home win whereas Roma are 11/4, the draw is 5/2 but get on both teams to score at 5/8 for pretty much the best value banker you can get this weekend in Serie A with comeon.com.

In a real mid-table affair, Inter Milan (9th) take on Cagliari (10th) on Sunday afternoon. Inter are capable of more than they have shown so far this season so should be able to overcome Cagliari especially at home, but at 23/4, Cagliari may well just be worth an outside bet.

Much has been made of Joe Hart’s loan move to Torino from Manchester City, but what a lot of people don’t know is that Torino have made a pretty solid start to the season.

Having only conceded eight goals so far (joint 7th best defensive record), Torino sit 8th in the league after three wins and two draws in their opening six matches.

Hart can look forward to an away trip to Palermo on Monday night looking for their fourth win of the season.

Palermo have picked up just the one win in the 16/17 season and sit in the relegation zone. Having only scored four goals all season, Palermo could well be for there for the taking. Torino at 10/11 for the away win looks a solid price for a solid team.

Looking deeper for value, Pescara look a good price at 29/20 to win at home against a struggling for form Sampdoria.

Sampdoria had lost four in row before picking up a point last time out against Palermo. Pescara could make home advantage count as confidence has taken a hit at both clubs.
