West Ham’s home clash with Bournemouth proved to be one the games of the season last year as the Cherries left Upton Park with a 4-3 win and we may see more fireworks when the two sides meet again today.
The Hammers were in action in midweek in the Europa League and sometimes teams can struggle after a European outing but this is a big occasion for the East London side. The match will be West Ham’s first competitive fixture at the London Stadium, or the Olympic Stadium if you prefer, and they will be desperate to grab a victory.
There are a few injury concerns for West Ham with Andre Ayew, Sofiane Feghouli, Diafra Sakho, Aaron Cresswell and Manuel Lanzini all missing but they should still be able to claim all three points.
My top bet for this clash is a West Ham victory, which pays out at 6/5, but Bournemouth won’t make life too easy for their hosts on Sunday.
The Cherries, who themselves are without Junior Stanislas and Tyrone Mings, rarely fail to score so the 33/4 on offer for a 2-1 home win also appeals, while the Hammers can be backed at 16/5 to claim the win with both teams to score.
