Daily Tips – Free flowing France can down Portugal

Portugal came through a tough draw after finishing third in their group but they may fall short against host nation France in today’s Euro 2016 final.

Remarkably, both Les Bleus boss Didier Deschamps and opposite number Fernando Santos have their full complement of 23 available for the final.

Portugal  do have a slight concern over Pepe after he missed the last match with a thigh problem but he is expected to pull through, while the big question for Deschamps is whether to recall N’Golo Kante or stick with Moussa Sissoko.

My suspicion is Kante will get the nod just to add a bit more steel to the French midfield as with Dimitri Payet and Antoine Griezmann in electric form there is already enough attacking prowess in that France side.

Griezmann grabbed both goals in the 2-0 win over Germany and at 3/1 he is worth a look in the first goalscorer market.  Portugal have been resolute in defence and hard to break down but France have only failed to score in 90 minutes in one Euro 2016 match so far and they should be able to find a way through on Sunday.

Finals often tend to be fairly tight affairs but the French have approached this tournament with an attacking mentality and there’s no reason to expect a change in tactics now.

Portugal carry a goal threat themselves in Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani and rising star Renato Sanches so I’m going to go with optimism and hope for a few goals.

A France win and over 2.5 goals pays out at 13/5 but my top bet for this clash is a France win and both teams to score at 17/4.
